Lapsang Souchong (Organic, Smoked Black Tea)
Lapsang Souchong is a specialty tea from the Fujian Province in China that is Smoked over Pine Wood logs. It was originally smoked in effort to dry the leaves quicker as China worked to keep up with the demand for tea in England. The Chinese thought they made a mistake in doing it this way as they did not care for the taste after drying the tea in this manner, but the English loved it and so it created this new style that became a favorite throughout the UK. Many compare the smell and taste to either a campfire or Scotch Whisky. This was Winston Churchill’s Favorite Tea, and it just so happens to be Mr. Marcus’ top choice too!
If you like this style of tea be sure to give Russian Caravan a go as it is Lapsang's slightly sweeter counterpart.
